Join us for the first UK screening of this remarkable documentary about the Dutch scientists who managed to resurrect the extinct aurochs.
The aurochs, Europe’s native wild cattle, went extinct in 1627, but some of its DNA lived on in domestic ancestors. This allowed Dutch conservationists and scientists to use back-breeding techniques to creature the Tauros, also known as Auroch 2.0, which is now learning to live in the wild and fulfil the role of its ancestors as an ecosystem architect. Join us for the UK premiere of a documentary about this remarkable story, as well as an interview with the film’s director Michael Schlamberger. Audience members will also have the chance to put their questions to an expert panel led by Dr Paul Jepson (author of Rewilding: The Radical New Science of Ecosystem Recovery) and featuring Ronald Goderie, CEO of the Tauros Foundation.
